Words: ~1,247

Title: The Stars My Destination
Author: [livejournal.com profile] scarlet_gryphon
Words: ~5,000
Genre: Gen, H/C, Team
Rating: PG-13
Notes: As requested, this is a sequel to On Wings Azure. I actually was about one-third of the way through writing it when this challenge was proposed, and was overjoyed to find that I could post it as soon as I finished it, instead of having it sit around on my hard drive collecting metaphorical dust. So, without further ado, here's The Stars My Destination. Now with visuals!

Summary: Wherein Rodney gets injured, John goes flying, and Carson is definitely Not A Vampire.

I don’t want to have to explain to Doctor Weir why I squished my CO when I parallel-parked the Jumper. )

Title: On Wings Azure
Author: [livejournal.com profile] scarlet_gryphon
Rating: PG-13
Genre: Gen
Words: 1,574
Notes: This has to be one of the oddest 'fics I've written so far, I think. It was fun as hell, though. *Evil Grin* Plays off the fact that a certain mythological beast can be found in nearly the same form in almost every culture across the world.

Summary: 'So, Rodney, how long have you had wings?' John asked, winning the McKay award for the Most Blindingly Stupid Question of the Year.

Notes: Part of my "Of Two Minds" (Rodney-as-a-Tok'ra) 'Verse. Set somewhere Season three or so. Title snagged from the song "Shadow of the Day" by Linkin Park.
Coping Mechanism: Fantasy
Notes (Updated): Comments are much appreciated. ^^
Summary: She’s always hated desert planets, no matter how starkly pretty they can be.

Title: Mental Processes
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: ~370
Warnings: Language, I guess.
Notes: Set in my "Rodney-as-a-Tok'ra" 'Verse. (I really need to think of a better name for that.) Um, any time after "Runner", I guess.
Summary: Rodney wakes up to a bright, sun-shiney day, and then immediately wishes he hadn't.

It shouldn’t be possible for what was essentially a faceless being to smirk, logically, but seeing as how logic was off on holiday, she did so, and with great satisfaction. )

Title: Free Falling
Author: [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]
Rating: PG-13

Title: The Sky, The Dawn, the Sun
Author: [personal profile] scarlet_gryphon
Rating: T/PG-13
Length: ~1,051
Genre: Gen, humor
Spoilers: Mentions of Chaya, so Sanctuary, I guess?
Notes: This was my half of a 'fic exchange with [personal profile] jennytork, and continues on from Kings and Shadows and the first entry in my Four Times Atlantis Proves Its Sentience (And One Time It Doesn't) 'fic, all of which belong in my "Stars Above (Sentient!Atlantis)" 'Verse. Please, enjoy.

Title: Murphy's Law (Or, Welcome to the Madhouse)

Author: [personal profile] scarlet_gryphon

Rating: PG (mild swearing)

Disclaimer: If any of this was mine, d'you think I'd be spending my time writing it? Didn't think so.

Length:~750 words, give or take a few.

Summary: Life is interesting for the residents of the apartment building, even more so when you're not the ones blowing things up.

Notes: This is set in the [profile] jack_built 'verse, which is a delightful AU that started out being based off the tv show The Big Bang Theory, and then just expanded like mad. I'm one of the more recent converts to this 'Verse, but still enjoy it immensely. To sum the entirety of the 'Verse up in a few sentences, it goes a little somethin' like this: Basically, the whole 'Verse is a mix of Atlantis and SG:1 characters living in the same apartment house, with Jack O'Neill as the grumpy but loveable manager. Explosions and power outages are the norm, and most of the apartment house's occupants tread that fine line between genius and insanity. And now, I'm gonna shut up and let you read the 'fic.

It's going to explode! )

Title: Dirty Little Secret

Author: [personal profile] scarlet_gryphon

Challenge: Amnesty 2008; sex, drugs and rock & roll

Rating: PG

Warning: None

Length: ~945

Title: Walk By Faith

Author: [livejournal.com profile] scarlet_gryphon

Challenge(s) Amnesty 2008, Fight or flight and/or Secret Superpowers

Pairing: Peter Grodin/ Miko Kusanagi friendship

Rating: PG-13 for language and action sequences

Warnings: A bit of language, but other than that, nothing much.

Length: ~1348 words

Author's Notes: This is my first time delving into the Coyote 'Verse, and I'm very thankful that [livejournal.com profile] irony_rocks has allowed me to play in her sandbox. This was written before Amnesty 2008, but I'm submitting it so A) I get it out there more, and B) I stop procrastinating about finishing my other 'fic I have going for Amnesty 2008. Timeline in the Coyote 'Verse is about two months after the Seabrook spill. No previous knowledge of the 'Verse is needed, though if you want to figure out what the hell's going on, go on over to [livejournal.com profile] coyote_sga and read through the stories. Start with "Genesis", and work your way through. *End shameless plug for new writers and readers*

Disclaimer: No, Mr. Lawyerbot, I don't own any of the recognisable characters. I do, however, own the Bookbag of Doom (TM).

And I will walk by faith, even when I cannot see... )

Word Count: ~6,400
Summary: Man...Judge of all things, feeble earthworm, depository of truth, a sink of uncertainty and error, the glory and the shame of the universe. - Blaise Pascal
Notes: None, save for a slight plea for reviews/comments? Anything, really. *hopeful grin* We thrive on them, people. Give us a reason to write more! Oh, and try to see if you can catch the Discworld homage we threw in there. Set in early season 1.

What a chimera then is man! )
[identity profile] scarlet-gryphon.livejournal.com
Notes (Cont): I forgot to mention: I'm an art major, and therefore know diddly about medicines in general, save for what I take myself. Sorry if I mess up anything. And for the record? I'm insanely jealous of [livejournal.com profile] rhymer23's and [livejournal.com profile] hellpenguin's entries for this challenge. You guys seriously rock my socks.
